L.C. Bell consulting

Clinical operations and medical editing for digital health.

Senior clinical leadership, operational rigor, and editorial precision — for the founders, investors, and publishers building the next chapter of healthcare.

About

A clinician, an operator, and an editor — in one practice.

L.C. Bell Consulting is the independent practice of Laura Kusminsky, PA-C — a senior clinical operations executive with a decade at the front lines of high-touch digital health, and an editorial background rooted in medical publishing. The name continues the lineage of L.C. Bell Press, the independent imprint that developed and published Surgery for the Physician Assistant, a clinical rotation guide for PA students.

Most digital health products are built without senior clinical judgment in the room. L.C. Bell closes that gap. The work spans clinical operations advisory, market and feasibility research for new healthcare ventures, and developmental editing of clinical and patient-facing materials — typically for early-stage teams who need a senior clinician who can also write.

Engagements are senior-led, hands-on, and selectively taken.

Services

Three practice areas, one perspective.

i.

Clinical Operations Advisory

For digital health teams designing or scaling care delivery: workflow design, capacity modeling, telehealth buildout, specialist network development, and clinical SOPs grounded in a decade of frontline operating experience.

ii.

Market Research and Feasibility

For founders and investors evaluating new healthcare ventures: competitive landscape analysis, service-model design, and operational viability assessment — written with a clinician's eye for what will actually work in practice.

iii.

Developmental Editing and Medical Review

For publishers, med-comms agencies, and digital health teams producing clinical or patient-facing content: clinical accuracy review, structural editing, and voice refinement from a working clinician with a publishing background.

Approach

Senior in the room. No junior layer.

  • i.
One mind, three disciplines. Clinical fluency, operational rigor, and editorial precision aren't handed off across teams — they're applied together, in the same head, on the same project.
  • ii.
Direct engagement, end to end. Every project is led personally. No staffing layer, no account managers translating between you and the work.
  • iii.
Selective by design. Bandwidth is finite, and the work is best when the fit is right. Engagements are limited and chosen carefully on both sides.
  • iv.
Clinical credibility you can cite. NCCPA-certified PA-C, decade as a senior clinical operations executive, founder of an independent medical publishing imprint. The credentials show up in the deliverables.

Selected Work

Recent engagements, among others.

Feasibility and Market Strategy

Specialized navigation venture for cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative care.

Conducted extensive market research and feasibility analysis for a healthcare navigation venture focused on patients with cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative conditions. Scope included competitive landscape mapping, service-model development, and operational viability assessment.

Delivered to founders evaluating market entry; informed clinical strategy and product positioning.

Developmental Editing and Medical Review

Member-facing content for a specialist-network venture in aesthetic medicine.

Provided developmental editing and clinical-accuracy review for an early-stage digital health company building a curated specialist-network model focused on aesthetic medicine — connecting members with best-in-class providers across procedures from neuromodulators and dermal fillers to surgical interventions.

Scope spanned core member-facing materials and explanatory content on treatment options — including the clinical and practical differences between non-surgical pathways and surgical alternatives. Deliverables were used to orient members to the company's offerings and to the spectrum of care available to them.

Questions

A few things worth knowing.

What stage of company do you work with?

From founder/early-stage through scale-up. The common thread is companies where senior clinical judgment is missing from the room and would change the trajectory.

Are you taking on full-time roles?

Currently consulting through L.C. Bell, and open to fractional or full-time engagements where the fit is right. Reach out and we'll talk.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes — confidentiality is the norm, not the exception, for this kind of work.

How does an engagement typically start?

A short intro call, a scope conversation, then a written proposal with a clear deliverable and timeline.

Where are you based?

New York, NY. Remote-first; happy to travel for the right engagement.
